Hello! My name is Tori Faulkner, founder of Safe Home Strategies and Registered Occupational Therapist (“OTR”) in Indianapolis, IN. I obtained my Occupational Therapy Doctorate degree (OTD) at the University of Indianapolis. Safe Home Strategies was created after seeing first-hand, as an OTR, that many of my clients were living in home environments limiting their independence while increasing their risk for falls! In my experience, many people and/or their loved ones are unaware that their home spaces can be safer and more accessible. For those who are aware, may not have the appropriate resources and assistance to enhance independence in their homes. In other cases, they may be reluctant to reach out to family and friends for the help they know they need in fear of being “burdensome” to their loved ones. Whatever the case, my passion is to work with individuals and families to create safe, functional spaces using low cost solutions that enable people to live comfortably where they want at highest levels of independence.
